Best 3 Sandbars in Palm Beach

Video brought to you by Darcizzle Offshore.

In this video, we’re diving into the top three best sandbars in Florida for a Sunday Funday! Whether you’re looking for the ultimate family boat party or you're here for the hardcore crowd that turns up the music, breaks out the floats, and turns the ocean into one massive wet rave, these sandbars have it all. Oh, and along the way, we had some bonus excitement—I went to check the crab traps and got completely robbed. No, seriously. But we’ll get to that later. First, let’s get to the sandbars because that’s why we’re all here, right?

1. Haulover Sandbar – Miami Madness

Let’s kick things off with the one and only Haulover Sandbar in Miami. Now, if you’re thinking about a mellow Sunday, where you’re just casually sipping a drink and enjoying the view, think again. Haulover is where you go when you want to turn Sunday Funday into a full-blown event. The water is the perfect depth for wading, so the party spreads across boats, floats, and people dancing knee-deep in the water. It's like someone took Miami’s nightlife and dumped it right into the ocean. Families bring their boats, but don’t let the kids fool you—by mid-afternoon, this place becomes a full-on rager.

Picture this: you’ve got a DJ on a boat, people paddleboarding with drinks in hand, and a rainbow of inflatables as far as the eye can see. Want to play giant beer pong in the ocean? You’re in the right place. I mean, it’s almost too wild. Almost. If you need to cool off after the Miami heat, just dip into the crystal-clear water or float on a flamingo—your choice. But the real magic of Haulover is the vibe. Everyone’s here to have a good time, whether you’re five or fifty-five, and let’s be real, there’s a lot of music, dancing, and some questionable karaoke attempts. It’s basically spring break...every Sunday.

2. Crab Island – Destin’s Paradise

Next up, we’ve got Crab Island in Destin. Now, don’t let the name fool you—there’s no actual island, and I didn't find any crabs here either (which is probably for the best). What you do get is a massive underwater sandbar that’s perfect for families who want a chill Sunday on the water, but also caters to the more adventurous crowd that starts pulling out the party barges around noon.

Crab Island is basically Florida’s version of an all-inclusive resort, but with boats. There's a floating restaurant where you can grab some tacos, a floating ice cream stand (yes, ice cream in the middle of the water!), and even a floating obstacle course if you’ve had one too many margaritas and think it's a good idea to prove you’re still “athletic.” Spoiler alert: it’s not. The water here is shallow enough to wade through, so people tie their boats together, and before you know it, you’ve got yourself a floating neighborhood.

This sandbar is all about options. You can kick back with the family, toss around a football, or swim from boat to boat to see who’s got the best snacks (pro tip: always bring extra chips). But if you’re in the mood to turn up the music and join the floating party, there’s plenty of that, too. Plus, the views here are straight out of a postcard—turquoise water, white sand, and not a care in the world.

3. Jewfish Key Sandbar – The Hidden Gem

Finally, we arrive at Jewfish Key Sandbar near Sarasota, a bit of a hidden gem compared to the other two, but trust me, it’s worth finding. Jewfish Key is perfect for those who want to mix a bit of relaxation with some good ol’ sandbar partying. This sandbar gives you the best of both worlds. You can anchor close to shore, let the kids swim and explore, while the adults enjoy a drink or two (or five, let’s be honest). It’s the perfect spot for a laid-back Sunday boat day that turns into a low-key party when the afternoon sun kicks in.

You’ve got crystal-clear water, shallow sandbars that stretch for days, and the best part—way fewer crowds than the other big-name sandbars. So, if you’re the type who likes to throw your own party without a thousand of your closest strangers, this is your spot. But don’t be fooled—just because it’s smaller doesn’t mean it’s lacking in the fun department. If you’re here to crank up the tunes and get the boat hopping, Jewfish Key is down for that, too.

And Now, The Great Crab Robbery

Now, let’s circle back to my crab trap incident. We dropped the traps earlier in the day, hoping to score a seafood feast to cap off our sandbar adventure. But no. When I went to check them? Empty. Nada. Zilch. Someone (or something) had beat me to it. It was like the crabs pulled off a heist and left me with nothing but my dignity—which, let’s be honest, was also questionable after a day of sandbar partying.
